FOLEY, Michael E., 66 of Wilmington, Ohio and formerly of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 in his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 11, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Robert E. and Edna (Cook) Foley, Sr. Mike was a 1964 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for two years in Germany during the Vietnam War. He applied for and was granted a European discharge upon completion of his military duty and travelled extensively throughout Europe before returning home to Springfield. Mike attended Central State University under the G.I. Bill and upon graduation from college, accepted a position with the Springfield Certified Public Accounting firm of Clark, Schaefer and Hackett in Springfield. Later along with Robert Wagenseller, Mike purchased the Wilmington office and accounts and formed the partnership of Wagenseller and Foley C.PA.'s in 1980. After 32 years he recently retired from the firm. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Leslie (Preston) Foley; two sons, Christopher M. & Christie and Timothy W. Foley; grandchildren, Katie, Jack and Gaby; brothers, Robert E. Jr. and Patrick & Laura Foley of Springfield; a sister, Margaret M. (Foley) McAtee, Springfield and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. Interment of ashes will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of life/wake will be held, following the interment, at Walnut Grove Country Club, 5050 Linden Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45432. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community Care Hospice of Wilmington. The family is being served by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
