Michael D. Patrick, Sr.

Patrick, Michael D., Sr., 68, of Springfield, passed away December 15, 2014. He was born December 11, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas to William and Thelma (Patzkowski) Patrick. He retired as Director of Quality Control for Rockwell International. Prior to that, Mike worked for Grimes Manufacturing for a number of years. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was an avid amateur radio operator and high school football official for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Valerie A. (Smedley); five children, Heather (Alexander) Marsh, Troy, Ashley (Ryan) Ridge, Dayton, Abigail (Kurt) Brugger, Beavercreek, Dr. Michael (Karen) Patrick, Hilliard, and Marc Patrick, Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Owen Marsh, Sawyer and Maddox Ridge, Knox Brugger, Katherine and Nicholas Patrick; two sisters, Nancy (Michael) Knapp, Washington, Dianna (Richard) Fielder, Urbana; brother, David (Jeri) Patrick, Urbana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made towards funeral expenses c/o Conroy Funeral Home.
