Melva E. Gravitt

Gravitt, Melva E., 91, of Springfield, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 in Eaglewood Village Care Center. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on September 22, 1924 the son of Charles and Lula (Ash) Burchett. She retired as a supervisor from ATT in 1981 after 30 years of service. She was a member of Hillside Avenue Church of God and the Pioneers Club. Survivors include her three children, Jackie (Norma) Spangler of New Castle, Indiana, Lou Ann (Vincent) Conant of Massillon, Ohio and Raymond (Jenny) Gravitt of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Burchett; one sister, Alene Cox both of Springfield and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 1989; two brothers, William and Robert Burchett and three sisters, Hazel Cubbage, Jo Ann Moschello and Zelma Wayman and one grandson, Kyle Conant. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Hillside Avenue Church of God with Rev. Michael Criner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Arrangements handled by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
