Mary "Sue" Gaier, 82, beloved wife and mother, passed away December 30, 2014 in Columbus after suffering a stroke in her home on Christmas eve. Sue was born April 12, 1932 in Texarkana, Texas to Ray Paul and Amy (Williams) Wright. She lived in Texarkana and El Paso, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia as a receptionist before she met John Anthony "Tony" Gaier at a Catholic choir event for military at Fort Bliss, Texas. They married on October 12, 1956 in Texarkana. Sue is predeceased by her parents, a sister, Rose Lucille and her brothers, Ray Paul, Jr., Rufus and Louis. She is survived by her loving husband of 57years, Tony, their sons Paul and Mark (Lisa), daughters Amy (Dave) and Lucille Pace; grandchildren Salina, Jaron (Margaret), Jacob, Eli, Bridget, Gabrielle, Jude, Gianna, and Sophia; numerous cousins, several brothers-and sisters-in law, and their children. Sue had a strong faith as evidenced by her words and actions. She worked for many years as secretary at Catholic Social Services. She was an active member at St. Bernard Church and School, Altar-Rosary Sodality, choir, lector and R.C.I.A program. She thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer work at Mercy, Community, and Regional Hospitals. A Mass of Christain Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard Catholic Church with family receiving friends one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church. The family suggests contributions to St. Bernard Parish. Arrangements are being handled by the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
