Mary Lou Gallagher

Gallagher, Mary Lou, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 4:02 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Ridgewood Nursing Center. She was born in Springfield on March 27, 1932 the daughter of Leo M. and Frances J. (Elliott) Gallagher. She was one of the original workers for Dr. Mueller before he started Town & Country and then went on to work for TAC Industries where she later retired. While employed at TAC Industries she was a member of the Red Hat Society which she enjoyed immensely. She was also a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include her sister, Pat Roddy; brother, Mike Gallagher; nephew, Kevin (Julie) Roddy all of Springfield; great niece, Kacy Roddy of Urbana; many cousins and special friends, Dorethea Colvin, Rachel Bond, Terry Meister and all the residents at Ridgewood. Her family would like to thank the staff of Ridgewood and Crossroads Hospice for their excellent care. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday (today) in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity or the Alzheimer's Association.
