Mary Katherine "Katie" Pierson

PIERSON, Mary Katherine "Katie", 92, of Fairborn, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Soin Medical Center. She was born October 25, 1923 in Wrightsville, GA, the daughter of Ben and Madge (Prescott) Parker. She had worked as a secretary at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Macon, GA, where she met her husband, Don. Katie was a member of Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Miami Valley Senior Women's Golf Assoc., Twin Base Golf Course, Dayton Women's Golf Assoc. and was active in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Survivors include two children, Vicki Potts and James Parker Pierson; three grandchildren, J'aime and Veronica Potts, and Andrew Evan (Jen) Pierson and five great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Darsey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Pierson in 1990; three brothers, Ben Jr., David "Ramp" and Jimmie Parker; and many loving friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass in the church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Dayton.
