Mary Ellen Bailey

Bailey, Mary Ellen, 87, of Springfield, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 in Heartland of Springfield. She was born August 9, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of William A. and Julia (Ducey) Sullivan. She was married to Wilbur H. Bailey for 58 years, who preceded her in death in 2006. She was a 1944 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Ladies of Columbus St. Teresa Council # 207. Survivors include her five daughters and spouses, Sue (Larry) Kline of Springfield, Christine (Ron) Rice of South Charleston, OH, Karen (Mike) Zinger, Nancy (Tom) Bange of Beavercreek, OH and Theresa (Trent) Hicks of Springfield, OH; nine grandchildren and spouses, Steve (Julie) Spencer, Julie Spencer, Andy (Libbi) Zinger, Eric Zinger, Jason Rice, Sarah and Michael Bange, and Jordan and Ryan Hicks; six great grandchildren, Abigail, Caitlyn and Matthew Spencer, and Mallory and Oliver Zinger, and Evelyn Zinger; a sister, Lucille Burns; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William and Paul. The family would like to give sincere thanks to Community Mercy Hospice and Heartland of Springfield for their special care. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with a Catholic Ladies of Columbia service at 4:00 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Teresa Catholic Church.
