Mary Belle Kelly

KELLY, Mary Belle, 94, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born March 20, 1923 in Champaign County, the daughter of James and Goldie (Frost) Toppins. She was a 1941 graduate of Enon High School. Mary Belle worked as a bookkeeper for Clark Landmark in South Charleston for 39 of years. She was an avid golfer and bowler and loved dancing and sewing. Mary Belle loved her family and will always be remembered for her smile and kind heart. Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon E. Kelly, South Charleston, OH and Bonnie (John Jr.) Lucas, Mills River, NC; two grandsons, Jared Lucas and Kyle Lucas; one great granddaughter, Chimira Lucas; three brothers, Oakley Toppins, Lee (Maxine) Toppins and Ray (Pauline) Toppins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 ½ years, James H. in 2010 and seven siblings. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Ohio's Hospice and Springfield Regional Hospital and the Harmony Twp. Emergency Squad for all their wonderful care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Janie Brewer. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice or Plattsburg United Church of Christ.
