Mary Louise Anon, a social butterfly with a zest for life’s grand and minute adventures, peacefully went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton. Born on February 25, 1939, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Leonard and Leona (Smith) Conklin.
She embraced experiences both grand and small, always up for a new adventure. With her beloved husband of 67 years James by her side, they were a constant fixture on their Harley, chasing sunsets and the thrill of the unknown route. Mary was always up for a card game or a day well spent on a golf course with her friends. Before retirement, she worked as tax preparer for 30 years with H&R block and also a bus driver with Greenon Local Schools.
But Mary’s greatest adventures often unfolded closer to home. She was a champion cheerleader, patiently sitting through countless livestock shows and sports games, her unwavering support a constant source of encouragement for her children and grandchildren. Holidays were her masterpiece – a whirlwind of laughter, delicious food, and cherished traditions, ensuring every gathering was a memory to be treasured.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, James; two daughters, Kimberly Albert and Mindy (Bob) Taylor; five grandchildren, Jessica (Kristian) Anon-Wade, Wesley (Katie) Albert, Thomas (Alyssa) Anon, Colby (Nicole) Albert and Holly Hogan; seven great grandchildren, Hailey, Kelsey, Jace, Presley, Winter, Randie and Addison; one great-great granddaughter, Ariella; one brother, Dennis Conklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; six siblings; and a son-in-law, Randy Albert. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Hospice of Dayton for their kind and exceptional care. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one and a half hours prior, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
