Cook, Mary Ann, 87, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Oakwood Village. Mary Ann was born September 21, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio to Thomas and Margaret (Faas) Griffin. She was the office manager and was an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant with the Eye Physicians of Springfield for 27 years and was a member of St. Teresa Church. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Clark State Community College, and was also a past president of WASSO and was a member of the Springfield County Club. Survivors include her three children, Mark (Christi) Murphy, George Murphy and Terri (John) Day; grandchildren, Mark (Denise) and Amy Murphy, Meagan (Mike Borja), John (Deborah) Day, Maureen Day and Shannon Day, and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Murphy, second husband, Dr. Martin Cook and two children, infant Teresa Murphy and Dan Patrick Murphy; two siblings, Thomas Griffin and Gloria Kunkleman. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa Church. Burial of ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Symphony Orchestra or Catholic Central Schools.
