Mary Ann Beach

BEACH, Mary Ann, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born November 16, 1929 in Springfield, OH to Joseph L. Clayton and Lucy A. (Scanlon) Clayton. She was a beloved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Mary Ann worked as a medical secretary and office manager for over 30 years; working for Dr. G.R. Horton, Dr. Lawrence J. Mervis, and Drs. Gary Lau and Larry Fish during her career. Throughout her life, Mary Ann was part of many social groups and charitable organizations, and was a vocal presence at many youth and high school sporting events--cheering on her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of St. Teresa Catholic Church where she served on many different committees, distributed communion, and sang in the choir. Mary Ann always loved to laugh and sing (whether she knew the words or not) and was deeply committed to her faith, family, and friends. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel T. Beach, who after 23 years will now be by her side again; brother, Jim Clayton; sister, Joan Clayton, and infant son, Daniel Joseph. Survivors include her sister, Rita Burk; three children and spouses, Lucianne (Jack) Lilienthal, Dan (Dina) Beach, and Karen (Bob) Corcoran; nine grandchildren, Katy (Andrew) Hazen, Kelly (Brian) Kadel, and Patrick (Kelly) Lilienthal; Shawna Russell, Lindsay (Tony) Witter, and Ryann (Colt) Mielke; Mark (Jennifer) Corcoran, Michael Corcoran, and Matthew Corcoran; 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as her loving Beach brothers- and sisters-in-law. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at St. Bernard Cemetery following Mass. Memorial donations may be made to St. Teresa Catholic Church. "In the lilt of Irish laughter, you can hear the angels sing."
