Our much loved wife, mother and grandmother, Marianne Leah Goebel, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening November 23, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Marianne was born December 8, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles L. Juenger, Sr. and Mary (Ball) Juenger. She spent her early years amongst the nuns at St. Raphael Parish, where her mother was employed as a cook in the convent house. After graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1947, she was employed for a few years at the Crowell-Collier Publishing Company in the correspondence department. She married her first and only love, Albert J. Goebel in 1950, then spent the remainder of her life nurturing and caring for her home and family. In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Kline and Cynthia (Francis) Catanzaro; four grandchildren, Anastasia (David) Smith, Vanessa (Kevin) Vaughn, Albert Kline and Robert Kline, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Ophelia Smith, Griffin Smith and Wyatt Kline and three nieces, Sue (William) Freysinger, Nancy (Charles) Smith and Daria (Robert) Mahoney. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles L. Juenger, Jr., and her sister, Alice K. Juenger. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Paul Buchanan and Dr. David Monjot for all their care during Marianne's last several years of failing health. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be held in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central High School or your favorite charity.
