Margie June Harkins

Harkins, Margie June, 93, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at home with her family. Margie was born in Lima, OH on June 28, 1923 the daughter of the late Orrin and Edith (Harter) Brown. She worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 35 years, where she made many good friends. Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always saw the good in people and looked forward to each new day. She is survived by five children, Susan Arnold, Scott (Ginny), Neil (Janice), Keith and Kent (Cindy); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Eldon Harkins; son, Craig; step-children, Eugene Harkins and Judy Hoskinson; sister, Dolores Kettler; and brother, Norman Brown. She will be missed. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held in Ferncliff Cemetery.
