Margaret Swords

Swords, Margaret A., 61, of Springfield, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 in Springfield Regional Medical Center after a long fight with cancer. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 22, 1954 the daughter of Chester S. and Helen (Thomas) DaRif. She was a Registered Nurse for many years, most recently with Community Mercy Hospice and a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Terry; three daughters, Danielle Gillam of South Vienna, Laura Middleton and Emily Swords both of Springfield; three grandchildren, Brady and Brock Gillam and Joseph Middleton; two brothers and spouses, Mike (Becky Norris) DaRif and Craig (Marilyn Holmes) DaRif all of Kentucky; special cat, Penelope and friends, Donna Powell, Carolyn Kellermeyer and Lynn Hawke. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all those who knew and loved her as much as her family. She was an amazing fighter, wife, mother, sister, nurse, friend, and Granana. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Raphael Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice. Arrangements handled by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
