Myers, Magdalene E. "Maggie", 90, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014. She was born on March 24, 1923 in Springfield, OH, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Eugenia (Pasquini) Powell. She graduated from Olive Branch High School and prior to marriage was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a secretary. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Springfield and enjoyed her time volunteering at the Right to Life, St. Mary's Church and St. Vincent dePaul Thrift Stores. She also managed her family farm the last 30 years. Her survivors include her son Richard (Dawn) Myers and her beloved grandchildren, Megan and Daniel Myers, all of Springfield; her brother Albert (Barbara) Powell of Springfield, sister Helen Patton of Ann Arbor, MI, sister-in-law Lois Powell of Springfield and numerous special nieces and nephews and many good friends in the community, especially Juanita Seitz and Janice and Bill Drake. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Daniel O. Myers in 1981; four brothers, Sylvester Jr., Elmer, John and Richard, and three sisters, Nellie Blaine, Blanche Aldrich and Lena Bell. The family wants to acknowledge the wonderful care provided to Maggie by her family physician, Dr. Alper Sarihan for the last 10 years. Also, a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Community Mercy Hospice of Springfield for being so kind and caring. At Maggie's request, private services with family were held at Ferncliff Cemetery with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society, Community Mercy Hospice of Springfield, St. John's Lutheran Church Educational Fund, or a charity of your choice.
