Lydia Irene Rice

RICE, Lydia Irene, 89, of Springfield, passed away March 4, 2017 in Forest Glen Health Campus. She was born June 21, 1927 in Eubank, Kentucky the daughter of Frederick Powell and Lydia Dora (May) May. She worked as a library aid at Warder Park Elementary for a number of years and was a longtime member of Hillside Church of God. Survivors include four children and spouses, Sue & Lee Roddy, Shell Knob, MO, Alan Rice, Alpharetta, GA, Karol See, Springfield, OH and Kevin & Tammy Rice, Gainesville, FL; 8 grandchildren, Rhonda & Chad Dunkley, Robyn & Devin Thomas, Dreu & Phil Schorr, Alan & Lauren Rice, Kyle Rice, Krista See, Chip & Heather See and Shiloh Rice; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Frederick Rice in 2007 and four sisters, Ethel, Corma, Norma and Edith. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Michael Criner officiating. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Hillside Church of God.
