Lowell D. "Bub" Saunders

Saunders, Lowell D. "Bub", 78, of Springfield, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in his residence. He was born in Springfield on October 12, 1935 the son of Euril and Mary (Guisinger) Saunders. He retired as a systems analyst from Computer Science Corporation, Government Systems Division after many years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed golfing, playing cards, pickle ball and volleyball. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carol A. (Williams); five children and spouses, Ben (Margie) Saunders of Tucson, Arizona, Cyndi (Larry) Tincher of Florence, South, Carolina, David (Nahasta) Saunders of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sam Saunders of Columbus and Christina Saunders of Springfield, who faithfully attended to her dad during his illness. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his son, Mitch Saunders. Private services will be held at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
