Gene Dillon

Dillon, Louis Eugene “Gene”, 87 of Springfield, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025. Louis was born on May 8, 1937 in Hamler, Ohio to Floyd and Bertha (Jackman) Dillon. He retired from Navistar as a General Foreman after 44 years of service. In 2000, he joined the team at Craig E. Dillon AIA Architects and has kept the office in top working condition ever since. He was a member of Northridge United Methodist Church, a buckeye fan, loved to play cards and loved the family vacations at Oak Island, North Carolina. Gene loved his family and always looked out for them. He is survived by his three children, Gina (Greg) Atha of Englewood, Craig (Teresa) Dillon of Springfield and Brad (Trisha) Dillon of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Grant (fiancée, Allison Jones), Maxwell, Amanda, Leah, Sarah, Keira and Ashley (Adam); great grandsons, Nolan and Samuel; great granddaughter, Morgan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne in 2019 and two sisters, Margarete Willman and Betty Bischoff. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Dr. Rev. Karen Crawford officiating. Burial will be in South Vienna Cemetery. Reception to follow at N.U.M.C.
