Piatt, Lloyd J., 88, of Springfield, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 in his home. He was born in Logan County, Ohio on July 9, 1928 the son of Donn Joseph and Edith Louisa (Hurtt) Piatt. Lloyd had a great passion for cars. He worked as a Certified Auto Technician for 41 years for various companies, where he received numerous service awards, before retiring in 1992 from Monte Zinn Chevrolet. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1945 and attended Wittenberg University. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He was devoted to his family. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jeanette (Cocca), who he adored; three children and spouses, Catherine (Dennis) Casey, Michael Piatt and Elizabeth (Randy) Daniels; grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Casey, Jennifer (Aaron) Morgan, David (Megan) Piatt, Daniel (Megan) Casey, Lisa (Zach) Hemphill, Diana Brooks and Jonathan (Nicole) Daniels; great grandchildren, Dillon Casey, Lena Piatt, Rosie Casey, Jack Piatt, Anna Piatt, Lilly Casey and Clara Daniels; two sisters, Marguerite Chatfield and Ruth Murray; sister-in-law, Faye Piatt and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Catherine Piatt, Donn Piatt and Herschel Piatt. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton for their wonderful care and support. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the National Parkinson Foundation.
