Linda M. Kitchen

KITCHEN, Linda M., 74, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018 in Oakwood Village. Linda was born November 6, 1943 in Duluth, Minnesota to Wayne and Jean (Teft) Rankin. She retired as a pre-school teacher at Christian Educare after many years, and was a member of the Springfield Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald J. Kitchen; two children, Dawn (Russ) Shively and Heather (Steve) Burgess; five grandchildren, Derek and Logan Shively, and Sydnee, Cade and Carley Burgess; a brother, Matt Rankin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlotte (John) Steberl, Patricia (Kenny) Whiting, Carolyn Kitchen, Jill Kitchen and Karen Kitchen-Morris; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friend, Carol Mercer. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Stebing; and two brothers-in-law, James and Lowell Kitchen. Her memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Springfield Church of Christ with Pastor Bill Warax officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Church of Christ.
