BROOCK, Leslie R. “Les”, 85, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in the Ohio Masonic Home. He was born April 4, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Benjamin and Pauline Broock. Les went to PGA School in Florida where he earned his PGA Pro Card. He returned to Ohio where he became the Assistant Pro at Madison Country Club near Cleveland for one year. He then came back to Springfield and joined his father at Home City Iron and Metal. When that was closed, Les and Mark Kossoff started Tower Metal Alloy. After closing Tower Metal, he finally accomplished his dream of opening his own fully stocked golf shop, Golf Unlimited, with a hitting room where he gave lessons for many years. He continued giving lessons for the rest of his life when and where he could. Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Sharon; two daughters, Shelly Broock and Mindi Spence; two grandsons, Shane Broock and Andrew Spence; two brothers, Dr. James (Sabra) Broock and Robert Broock and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Rabbi Cary Kozberg. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to your favorite charity.
