Leon P. Anderson

ANDERSON, Leon P., 83, of Urbana, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, at Springfield Regional Medical Center with family by his side. He was born March 9, 1935 in Springfield, the son of Peter C. and Marie (Georgopoulos) Anderson. Leon worked in sales as a truck driver for a number of years. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Football team, never missing a chance to watch a game. He leaves behind friends at the Urbana Health and Rehab Center and the Hugh Taylor Apartments in Springfield. Survivors include a brother, Alex P. & Terri Anderson, New Carlisle; two sisters, Beverly Anderson and Sylvia Krupp, both of Springfield; two nephews, Peter & Kathy Green of Comanche, OK and Stephen Green, Chicago, IL; two nieces, Angela & Matt Madtes of New Carlisle and Nikki & George Kalemanis of Cincinnati; three great nieces and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Christie P. Anderson, and one sister, Sharon Green. Private funeral services officiated by Fr. Dumitru Ruso will be held in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Greek Orthodox Church in Springfield.
