Wobbe, Lawrence E., 81, of Springfield, died February 11, 2013 in Villa Springfield. He was born June 17, 1931 in Springfield, OH to Lawrence and Matilda (Grieb) Wobbe. Larry retired as a project engineer with Vernay Labratories after 35 years of service. During his time at Vernay he was instrumental in developing the V-Tip Needle Valve. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Dayton Chapter of Manufacturing Engineers, enjoyed listening to music and playing the piano and organ, and loved spending time with his 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha J. "Pud" (Dunn); a son and daughter in law, Mark and Dawn Wobbe, South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Ryan Wobbe and Rachel Wobbe; numerous nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Julie Kramer Cole, Loveland, CO. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Taft. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central Foundation.
