HANNAN, Larry L., 75, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away March 17, 2015, following complications from acute pneumonia. He was a 1958 graduate of Springfield High School. He was born March 14, 1940 to Reverend William R. and Lillian Hannan, both longtime local residents. Larry retired from Honda in Marysville where he worked as a materials support specialist. He contributed to the development of the materials recycling and cost reduction programs. He was known for his deep interests in music, automobiles, sports and volunteering his time visiting the elderly and sick. His athletic skills and interests spanned a lifetime. He enjoyed coaching his children and supporting his grandchildren at sporting events. He was an accomplished senior golfer in the local community. His imaginative humor, story-telling, rapid wit and ability to make people laugh were a unique gift.
Larry had a pure, unqualified love for his family and close friends, giving unselfishly and asking for nothing in return. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jean (Studebaker) Hannan, his loyal companion Bogey and three sons: Chris (Jennifer) Hannan of Brentwood, California, Todd (Jan) Hannan of Florence, Kentucky, and Shane (Erin) Hannan of Springfield. He is survived by nine grandchildren: Noah, Dylan and Cassidy Hannan; Seth, Sarah, and Matthew Hannan; Brody, Kylie, and Kelty Hannan. He is also survived by two siblings: Joyce Clark of San Francisco, Richard Hannan (Kathleen) of Shaker Heights, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Janet (Hannan) Wheeler, Charlotte Jeanine Hannan and a brother Harold Emerson Hannan, two brothers-in-law, John Clark and James Wheeler. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11-1 on Friday March 20th until the time of service at 1:00 pm in Heritage Fellowship Church (where he was a long time member) 105 N.
