SPANGLER, Larry E., DDS, 67, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1947 in Hazard, KY the son of Clarence and Helen (Collins) Spangler. Larry was a dentist in Springfield for over 30 years. He was a 33 year member of the Elks #51 where he was past Exalted Ruler, a United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Masonic Lodge, an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Susan (Brown); one daughter, Mindy Spangler; two step-children, Stephanie (Chris) Roessler and John Howard Wiegel, III; four grandchildren, Jackson Wiegel, Sophia, Nicholas and Chris Henry Roessler; four siblings, Linda (Mike) Swank, Joanne (Bill) Sloane, Charles (Joyce) Spangler and Butch (Sue) Spangler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private Services with family and close friends will be held at the convenience of the family. Elks Service and Military Honors will follow the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warriors.
