Edington, Larry E., 72, of Springfield, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on March 26, 1945 the son of Earl and Edna (Price) Edington. He retired from General Motors in 1988 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, volunteered at Elderly United and loved fishing, bowling and playing pool. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Jeannetta M. (White); six children, Susie (Lee) Walter, Tammy (Lamar) Whittenbarger, Jeff (Beth) Watterson, Angelia Edington, Anthony Edington and C.D. Watterson; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Justin Rashley and five brothers, Earl, Olan, Darrell, Doug and Carlan. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
