Larry E. Bayless

BAYLESS, Lawrence E. "Larry 73, of Springfield, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 in his home. He was born February 7, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Melvin and Bessie (Campbell) Bayless. Larry worked at Navistar as a Bargaining Chairman for the Local 402 for over 20 years and held several other positions. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Union Club and Grey Riders. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Cheryl (Starnes); one son, Jason Zimmerman; his mother, Bessie Bayless; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Danny & Linda Starnes, Ned & Debbie Starnes and Lana Sorlie; 8 nieces; 10 nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and his very best buddy, Kendall, who loved her 'donut man.' He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, his daughter, Jackie, his brother, Danny and his mother and father in law, Alice and Henry Starnes. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Craig Grammer officiating.
