Katherine A. Doorley

Doorley, Katherine A., 99, of Cincinnati, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Cincinnati, OH. Katherine was born August 21, 1918 in Springfield, OH to August and Katherine (Hyser) Remmetter. Survivors include four nephews, Michael E. (Mary) Sweeney, Richard J. (Ellen) Sweeney, Gerald T. (Marie) Sweeney and Daniel C. (Pam) Sweeney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas M., in 1985; and a sister, Mary Margaret Sweeney, in 2016. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper for the New York Central Railroad and People's Outfitters. Known as "Dolly" by her family and friends, she brought her sense of beauty and caring to all her loved ones and surroundings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church in Springfield with Fr. Larry Gearhart officiating. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior in the church, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be held in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
