June Balthaser

BALTHASER, June A., 92, of South Charleston, passed away June 7, 2015 in Heartland of Springfield. She was born September 17, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of John and Florence G. (Sharpe) Boyd. June served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945, worked at WPAFB for 22 years as a buyer of military training films for all branches and later worked in the kitchen at Southeastern High School. She performed as a whistler in the 1940's during the big band era. June was a member of South Charleston United Methodist Church. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Sandy & Ben Miller and Terry & Grace O'Neal and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Balthaser, two sisters, Glenna Vince, Helen Coleman, one brother, Robert Bowers and a niece, Barbara K. Hill. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Heartland of Springfield for their outstanding care. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday in South Charleston United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the church. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery, Spring Valley, Ohio. The family is being served by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
