O'Neill, Judith "Judy", 98, of Springfield, formerly of London, OH died January 1, 2014 in Southbrook Care Center. She was born December 5, 1915 in Chillicothe, OH to H. Millard and Marguerite (Hydell) Carson. She was a 1934 graduate of Chillicothe High School and was employed at Robbins and Myers and Albers Supermarket, and later retired from the logistics department at WPAFB after 15 years. Judy was a member of the following organizations: Moose Chapter 429, Springfield Women's Bowling Association (SWBA) and the SWBA Hall of Fame. She loved to quilt and was active in the following quilting organizations: Heirloom Quilters of West Jefferson, the Quilting Friends of the London Senior Center, and the QBEES at Springfield Northside Methodist Church. She was a member of Elderly United in Springfield, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 207, and the Madison County Hospital Auxiliary. Judy was an active volunteer at Madison County Hospital and Home Health Hospice in London, Springfield Elderly United RSVP, and the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Springfield. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John (Jack) O'Neill in 1997, an infant son, John, five grandsons and sister, Norma Paige. Survivors include two sons, James M. and Jerry M. (Cindy), Springfield; granddaughter, Kelly (Doug) Armfelt; great-granddaughter, Molly Armfelt; cousin, Tricia Sigsworth; and many close friends in London and Springfield. Judy was a member of St. Bernard Church, where a Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, with family receiving friends one hour prior in the church. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in London, OH. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Bernard Scholarship Fund or the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank in Springfield.
