WOOD, Judy B., 74, of Springfield, peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was born October 10, 1939 in Dayton the daughter of Albert and Rose St. John. Judy was a Registered Representative for John Hancock for 25 years. She had a designated degree in extra studies in LUTCF. Judy was blessed to have many caring family, friends, doctors and caregivers. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Kelly & Dewayne Casteel, Howard, Ohio and Kristy McLane, Maplewood, Ohio; grandchildren, Logan, Devon, Kirsten, Shyloh and DJ; brother, Bill & Becky St. John; brother-in-law, Charles Betts; nieces and nephews, Jan Curry, Chris Betts and Jill Koon and her special friends, Barbara & Myron Wells and Mark and Chris Wells. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James H. Wood in 1998, sister, Shirley Betts and a dear niece, Heather St. John. Judy was a person who had boundless energy and a compassionate spirit. Her close friends knew Judy as a person who had the ability to find the good in everyone and had an infectious laugh in almost every situation. She was a person who lived by helping others and brought her bright smile into every greeting and occasion. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Joel Augustus officiating. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
