Scarberry, Sr., Joseph D., 85, of Springfield passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Springfield Masonic Community, where he had been a resident for the past three years. He was born in Springfield on June 28, 1932 the son of Donald and Rozellen (Vining) Scarberry. He owned and operated Scarberry Barber Shop for 22 ½ years. He was a 1950 graduate of Springfield High School, a graduate of Toledo Barber College, a member of St. Andrews Lodge #619 F. & A.M. and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his four sons and spouses, Kenneth (Emily) Scarberry, Mark (Nanette) Scarberry, Scott (Mary) Scarberry and Joe (John Day) Scarberry, Jr.; step-son, David (Dina) Longo; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Sweeney; two step-brothers, Dewayne and Darrell Bartley and step-sister, Joann Kaiser. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith, and his step-sister, Charlene Smith. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, with a Masonic Service and Scottish Rite Service at 7:00 p.m., in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Kramer, from Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
