REDMON, John V., 46, of Springfield lost his battle to drug addiction on February 22, 2016. He was born December 17, 1969 in Springfield the son of James Lee Redmon and Martha (Decker) Trimble. He had worked for Castle Hauling for a number of years. He worked many years in Florida as a mason. John was an avid fisherman and loved to cook. He was a family man and a selfless person who put others before himself. John Boy, as he was known by all who loved him, had a quick smile and a great sense of humor. Survivors include his parents; four siblings, Dawn Brink, Alisa Line, Joseph Redmon and Douglas McGonigal and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He had a special closeness with his aunt Angela (Decker) Gray. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held two hours prior in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to McKinley Hall Treatment Services, 1101 E. High St.
