John R. Martin

MARTIN, John R. age 77, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. He retired after 41 years of service with General Motors & Frigidaire. John also retired as District Chief of the Kettering Fire Department. 1955 graduate of Catholic Central H.S., Springfield, OH. John is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Barbara and daughter, Susan Hill. He is survived by his loving family; son Kevin; grandson, Bradley (Katy) Hill and granddaughter Shawna (Dan) Bowman; great-grandchildren Caden, Stella, Emma, Hudson and Tyler; brothers, Thomas (Mary), William (Diane), and Gerald (Linda) Martin; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. FRIDAY, August 22, 2014 at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy St. (Powell Rd./St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile east of Sawmill Pkwy) Powell, OH 43065.
