John P. Leary

Leary, John P., 57, of Springfield, died October 28, 2016 following a year-long battle with cancer. He was born April 22, 1959 in Springfield, OH to John H. and Martha Joan (Scherzinger) Leary. John was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and recently retired as manager of IGA Supermarket in Enon. He graduated from North High School and Wright State University, and was actively involved with AA and received his 8 years chip this past May. Survivors include his sister, Kathleen Bennett of Springfield; three nieces, Christine (Steve) Keeney, Mary Bennett and Margaret (Fiance, Evan Swihart) Bennett. He was preceded in death by an infant nephew, James and brother in law, Bill Bennett. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
