John Jeffrey Downey

DOWNEY, John Jeffrey, 66, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Grandview Medical Center, Dayton, OH. John was born January 11, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio to John W. and Mary E. (Hanson) Downey. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Korea. He was an avid bowler and member of the Elks and LICA. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Downey; three sons, Brian (Jen), Adam (Jenny) and Alex (Teresa); three grandkids, Zachary, Caleb and Lyla; two sisters, Linda Howell and Lori (Mike) Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Fr. John MacQuarrie officiating. Burial will be held in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
