John C. McDonald

McDONALD, John C., 73, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 in Dayspring Nursing Home. He was born July 14, 1941 in Springfield the son of Darwin and Mildred (Crooks) McDonald. John retired as a machinist from Kelsey-Hayes after a number of years and later went back to work for McCauley in Vandalia. He was a member of Plattsburg United Church of Christ and Anthony Lodge F&AM. Survivors include his two children and spouse, Dale (Maria Petrella) McDonald, Farmington Hills, MI and Elaine McDonald, Springfield; four grandchildren, Isabella and Mario McDonald and Priscilla and Paige Finchum; three cousins, Donna Ruth Parks, Teri Fugh and Myron McDonald and a close friend, Judy Blair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla in 2002 and his parents. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Curt Miner. Burial will follow in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
