Harris, John B. "Jack", 89, of Springfield, OH died on September 1, 2013 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. Jack was born on June 13, 1924 in Springfield, OH to John B. and Margaret E. (Dye) Harris. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a longtime member of the National Trails Lions Club. He retired in 1989 from Garrigan's. Survivors include his wife, Maxine E. (German) Harris; a son, John Michael (Gay) Harris, of Springfield; a stepson, Dr. Gary (Linda) Johnson, of Winter Haven, FL; two grandchildren, Valerie (Ben) Purdy of Berea, OH and Ryan (Lesley) Harris, of Winter Garden, FL; two step-grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Giglia and Dr. Amy Cotton all of Florida; and four great grandchildren, Lena E. Giglia, James R. Giglia, Joey M. Harris of Florida and Reagan Purdy of Berea, OH; a half-brother, Donald Dye; and a brother in law, Roger German of Springfield. Jack donated his body to the University of Cincinnati Medical School. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Herrig officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1612 S. Belmont Ave., Springfield, OH 45505. Arrangements are being handled by the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
