TURNER, Joan Vermillion, 95, of Cedarville, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at Shawnee Estates Assisted Living in Xenia, Ohio. Joan was born in Bridgeport, Ohio on April 16, 1928, the daughter of Millard E. and Mabel B. (Coleman) Vermillion. She worked as a bank teller for First National Bank and as an apartment manager in Chillicothe, Ohio, for many years. Survivors include two children and spouses, David (Beverly) Turner, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Marilyn (Greg) Howe, Cedarville, Ohio, and two grandchildren, Zachary Howe and Abigail (Hayden) Borondy. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, E. Eugene Vermillion, and her sister, Mary Margaret Primmer. Joan enjoyed gardening, DIY home projects, and her pets. She genuinely loved her family and would do anything she could for them. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME in Springfield, Ohio, with Pastor Jeff Burr officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association or Greene County Humane Society. The family wishes to thank the staff at Shawnee Estates, Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, as well as Melody Cato for their special care.
