Shaw, Joan, 88, of Springfield, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 in her home. She was born June 13, 1928 in Springfield, OH to Kenneth and Blanche Catherine (Serdevan) Yontz. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a devout catholic. She lived God's word every day of her life, no matter what she faced in life. Joan was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and retired with over 30 years of service to St. Raphael Church and St. Mary Church. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and served on the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed playing bingo and family member visits. She is survived by seven children, Deborah (Harold) Fleming, Naples, FL, Robert Shaw of Lenoir City, TN, Michael Shaw, William (Chrissy) Shaw, David Shaw, Carolyn Shaw, and Lisa Shaw all of Springfield; one brother, Jerry (Patricia) Yontz of Lake Mary, FL; daughter-in-law Cindy Shaw; and 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Shaw; one son, Stephen Shaw; and three brothers, Robert Yontz, Gene Yontz, and Jack Yontz. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
