Badgley, Jimmy "Jim" Dean, 76, of Springfield, OH passed away on Thursday, October 24 in Eaglewood Village. He was born in Springfield on February 2, 1937 to Nelson and Eva (Fields) Badgley. Jim graduated from Springfield High School in 1955 and attended Ohio State University. He served 3 years in the Ohio National Guard and 3 years in the Army Reserve. He retired from International Harvester, now Navistar, after 46 ½ years of service. Jim also worked for Kroger for 12 years. He has been a member of Northridge Lions Club since March 1971 and a past president. He was also a member of the Elks and the Eagles. Jim was also an active member of the Northridge United Methodist Church since 1965. Jim's favorite hobby was wood working and traveling. Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Linda Lou (Allender) Badgley; daughters Carrie (Jeff) Johnson of West Chester, OH and Diana (Sean) Connolly of Chicago, IL; Six grandchildren, Connor and Bryce Johnson of West Chester, OH, and Dylan, Quinn, Cole and Kate Connolly of Chicago, IL; several nieces and nephews; sisters Mildred (Charles) Gruntz and Sandra (Scott) Capps; and sister-in-law Shirley (Tom) Herzog. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard Badgley. Visitation will be held at the CONROY FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Northridge United Methodist Church on Monday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Ken Woode officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Northridge United Methodist Church Fund or Northridge Lions Club for Eyesight.
