MOORMAN, Jesse A. "Jake", 83, of Springfield, passed away on October 9, 2014 in his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with illness. He was born in Burkettsville, Ohio on March 27, 1931 the son of Ivo and Pauline (Kothman) Moorman. He was the owner and master plumber for Moorman Plumbing for many years. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 1031 and an avid Reds fan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. Jesse was a devoted husband, father, "paw-paw", great "paw-paw", brother, uncle and friend. Survivors include 3 adoring children and spouses, Larry and Cindy Moorman, Nancy Moorman, all of Springfield and Lois and Dan Shultz, Columbus; 5 grandchildren and spouses, Katie and Chris Rahrig, Phil and Becca Moorman, Chris Moorman and special friend, Sarah Halula, Johnny Shultz and Jake Shultz; two great granddaughters, Ella and Delaney; sister, Alice Whitacre and numerous special nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Jean (Lindsay) in 2011, his parents, daughter, Judy Lynn, four brothers, Paul "Shorty", Wally, Jim and Bob Moorman and his sister, Thelma. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard Church or V.F.W. Post 1031. The family would like to give a special thanks to Community Mercy Hospice for their excellent care and support.
