SPYKER, Jean P., 96, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in Heartland of Springfield. Jean was born on December 1, 1921 in Lima, Ohio the daughter of Irene (Neely) and Ralph Palmer. She was a graduate of Lima Shawnee High School and Northwestern School of Commerce. On April 12, 1942 she and Darrell "Jim" Spyker were married in St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lima and after his return from service in WWII they came to Springfield to make their home. For several years they were both employed in the offices of the Perkins Pancake House in this area until Jim preceded her in death in 1973. Her joys were many and centered around her family and many friends. She was a member of Oakland Presbyterian for over 50 years. Survivors include her three children, Robert Spyker, Anita & Roy Clark and Raymond Spyker; grandchildren and spouses, James & Susan, Robert & Jennifer, Kristopher & Kelly, Cory & Stephanie and Darrell; numerous beloved great grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn and Dr. Ray Manahan and their family and the Knox family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Janice & Ted Knox. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Her ashes will be inurned at St. Matthew Cemetery in Cridersville, OH. Arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
