Jamie (Whitacre) Rape

Rape, Jamie (Whitacre), 51, of Springfield, passed away at 9:12 a.m. Tuesday January 10, 2017 in her home. She was born in Springfield on November 11, 1965 the daughter of Michael and Sharon "Sherry" (Hannon) Whitacre. She was a 1984 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a 1988 graduate of the University of Cincinnati and taught for Springfield City Schools since 1989. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Daniel M.; three sons, Seth, Adam and Noah; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa (Jeff) Flores of Springfield and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Susie) Whitacre of Little Rock, Arkansas and Shane (Sherry) Whitacre of Columbus. Jamie loved her fellow staff, administrators and her students. The family wishes to thank all of them and the staff at Springfield Regional Cancer Center and Hospice of Dayton. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
