Kenney, James W., 90, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Oakwood Village. James was born November 22, 1926 in Portland, Oregon to Maurice and Elizabeth (Bunker) Kenney. He graduated from the University of Oregon, where he met his wife, Carolyn. They married in June of 1950. He worked in Marketing at the Cascade Corporation for 27 years. He was a member of St. Teresa Church, Springfield Kiwanis, Springfield Arts Council, Clark County Historical Society, the Men's Literacy Club, Archaeological Society and MENSA. James is survived by two children, Matthew (Nicole) Kenney and Anne Kenney (Fred) Golan; and four grandchildren, Mitchell and McCrae Kenney, and Claire and Patrick Golan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; and a brother, Robert Kenney. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 17 at Oakwood Village Community Room at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate both James and Carolyn. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date.
