James Robert "Bob" Greene, Jr.

GREENE Jr, James Robert "Bob", 76, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2015 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1939 in Springfield, Ohio the son of James Robert and Francis (Sharp) Greene, Sr. Bob was a 1957 graduate of Springfield High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company. Known for his love of BMW motorcycles, riding year-round, Bob accompanied by his wife, traveled all 48 of the contiguous United States. Bob was a lifetime member of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, earning 100,000 and 200,000 mileage awards; a lifetime member of the New Carlisle Sportsman Club and member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. His interests included running, volleyball, archery and target shooting. Bob's greatest joy was his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Patricia Ann (Mitterholzer) Greene, two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Jeffery) Claar, Debbie (Jeff) Boysel; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Colin) Dobson, Kelsey Claar (fiance Johnny Mikes), Saddie Holland (Blake Acles), Drew and Averi Boysel. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Parkinson Support Group c/o United Senior Services.
