Entler, James Madison, 80, of Springfield, died February 11, 2015 in his residence. He was born May 29, 1934 in Pike County, OH to the late Montford and Florence (Merritt) Entler. He attended Woodside Church of Christ in Christian Union, was a 1953 graduate of South Charleston High School, and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Judith A. (Slagle) Entler; two sons, James Christopher (Jessica) Entler and James Jeffrey (Rena`) Entler of Springfield; four grandchildren, Sophie, Drake and Logan Entler and Zach Castle; a sister, Mildred Sellers, Peoria, IL, sister-in-law, Mary Entler, South Charleston. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles, George (Christine), Paul (Delores) and sisters and brothers-in law, Velma Ruth Entler, Avonelle (Walt) Shoemaker, Freda (Vora) Holton, Norma (James) Thomas, Roberta (Jack) Neff and William Sellers. He also was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Effie Slagle. Jim worked at Ohio Steel Foundry, White Diesel and retired from Navistar International with 32 years of service. He was a member of the Clark County Beagle Club, UAW Local 402, Union Club, Eagles, Moose, VFW 1031, "The Lunch Bunch". Jim was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family, nieces, nephews and friends. A special thanks to Judy's cousin Bob Detty for helping the family care for Jim and to Hospice nurses Tammy and Kim. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Tim Dotson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior, beginning at 12 noon. Graveside services and Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Pike County, OH at 12 noon on Sunday.
