Nangle, James J., 85, of Springfield, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in Hearth & Home Harding Road. He was born November 25, 1929 in Springfield, OH to James H. and Gladys (Strader) Nangle. He graduated from Catholic Central in 1945 and later attended Wittenberg and Xavier Universities. James worked several years as a milkman for Borden Dairy Co. and retired in 1985 as Department Manager at International Harvester Company after 25 years of service. James was an avid golfer and played in numerous leagues and tournaments around the area. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, the Union Club, Elks and Eagles. Survivors include his daughter, Theresa "Terri" (Keith) Nawman of New Carlisle; son, J. Michael (Ginger) Nangle, Tucson, AZ; sister, Rosemary Hansford of Springfield; two brothers, Jack (Patricia) Nangle and Chuck Nangle all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Michele (Matt) Spriedejs, Brittany (Matt) Porteus, Emily (Adam) Galat and Sara Nangle; three great-grandchild, Michael Guilford, Charlie and Gabriel Porteus and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loeda in 1993 and his sister, Carol Cligrow. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
