James H. Knapp

Knapp, James H., 80, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1934 in Springfield to James W. and Helen Knapp. James worked for Navistar for 25 years, and was a member of the Eagles for many years. Survivors include his wife, Louise (Justice) Knapp; two children, Tim and Jamie Knapp, both of Springfield, from his first wife Roseanne (Thompson) Knapp; three step-children, Steven Walls, Jeannie Allman and Angelina Caudill; one grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Higbee; and a step-brother, Sonny Knapp. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME, with visitation beginning one hour prior at 1 pm. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
