James E. Marsh

Marsh, James E., age 70, of Urbana, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center ending a 3 month battle with lung cancer. He was born in Springfield on March 6, 1948 to the late Wharton and Jane (Draper) Marsh. Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita M. (Mahoney); three daughters and spouses, Christine (Dan) Stummer, Michelle (Ross) Wilson, and Pam (Jeff) Peterson; four grandchildren, Reily, Logan, Adelynn and Skylar; three siblings and spouses, Judi (Bill) Callison, Warren (Rhonda) Marsh and Wayne (Gina) Marsh along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Marsh. Jim was an avid golfer and bowler, and he enjoyed retirement from Navistar after over 40 years of employment. He was an active member of the Eagles, the Moose, the Elks, the Union Club, Knights of Pythion 610, and the Machinist Club. A memorial gathering for Jim will be held at the Buckeye Club, 126 W. High St. Springfield, OH on Sunday, August 26th from 3pm-6pm. He was a loving husband and supportive father who will be missed dearly. He will be remembered as always willing to lend a hand and share a laugh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County.
